MISSIONS & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The Orthodox Church in Guatemala

Fr. John Chakos and Presvytera Alexandra have committed themselves to helping the people of Guatemala, where they are assisting in establishing a seminary, train catechists, coordinate the arrival of mission teams, support orphans and needy children, and aid the clergy in ministering to the sacramental needs of the communities.

FOCUS Pittsburgh

FOCUS Pittsburgh provides healthy food for children, household and personal items for families, counseling for ex-offenders, bus passes, job training, healthcare, and other action-oriented and sustainable solutions to poverty in the region.

International Orthodox Christian Charities

IOCC, in the spirit of Christ’s love, offers emergency relief and development programs to those in need worldwide, without discrimination, and strengthens the capacity of the Orthodox Church to so respond.

Orthodox Christian Mission Center

Every year, Orthodox communities, organizations, and individuals offer their prayerful support to fund mission projects that are geared at strengthening the infrastructure of newly emerging, or reemerging, Orthodox Churches around the world. OCMC uses these funds to provide grants for specific mission projects that help the Church offer a loving witness to Her own people. These projects include the establishment and support of philanthropic ministries and the construction of churches, water wells, and housing, to name a few.
